MISS UNION 2013

It is that time of year again! The glitz, the glamour, the talent! If you think you have what it takes, we are looking for you!
MISS UNION 2013 will take place on June 5, 2013 at Union Cafe. Registration forms are available now at the Union Cafe bar. Win $200, a booking at Dragapalooza, and more! Virginia West and I will host the fun as Kiley Dash-West steps down as Miss Union 2012.
Below, you will find rules, registration information, and deadlines! Get to werk, hunties!
REGISTRATION:
Registration ends, June 3, 2013 at 4 PM. Space is limited to 15 contestants. If more than 15 entry forms are received, a random drawing will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 to determine the 15contestants.
ELIGIBILTY:
We want amateur drag entertainers who want to perform, but rarely have the chance. We are looking for entertainers who believe that they could be the next well-known female illusionist. We just ask that you have not won any titles, state or national.
MUSIC:
You must provide your own music in the following format – Compact Disc (CD), CD’s should be clean and free of scratches. All music materials should be clearly labeled with your name and track/song number. In choosing your number, think current and high energy. A cordless microphone will also be available. You may also use a smart phone to play your music. If you choose to do this, your phone must be put on “airplane mode”. All CDs and phones will be returned after the competition is complete.
RULES:
Each contestant should arrive in make-up and costume. Contestants must arrive by 9:00PM, for a 10pm show time, Wednesday, June 5, 2013 and check in with the show hostess. The order of performance will be decided by a random drawing. Each contestant will perform one number of their choice and can be 18 and up. Judges will score your performance on several areas of showmanship. After a musical number by one of our hostesses, the TOP 5 highest scoring Contestants will advance to the second round.
Miss Union will be determined again based on showmanship and stage presence and will receive a prize package worth $200, and crown.
Family Reunion

There is yet another crazy week upon us, but with Monday almost half over, that only means we are one day closer to the weekend!
This weekend is already promising to be one for the books. The Axis Lounge show on Saturday night promises to be a memorable family reunion especially for me on Mother’s Day Weekend! I am excited to announce the return of KARI KERNING and BARBIE ROBERTS in the cabaret this Saturday at midnight, with Freesia Balls and me!
Join us after WILLAM for this special night. I know it is going to get ridiculous!

I am shameless. I am ok with that, and, by the looks of things, you are as well.
Well, as a fan of Neil Patrick Harris, or NPH for short, I have noticed that he tweets a good deal about food. It is no secret that Columbus has some great eats…and as an unofficial ambassador to this fair hamlet of ours, I have decided to take it upon myself to invite NPH and his adorable husband David to Columbus to dine with me at some of my favorite eats around the city!
Could you imagine if this happened? I know I can. Maybe if we will it hard enough it will come true? Or you could tweet him and suggest it? Either way, it is fun to be a little ridiculous and maybe, just maybe he will see it and be intrigued enough to swing by Arch City for gnosh!

I have been somewhat shameless in the last 24 hours.
If you do not follow me on twitter (@NinaWest), you have missed out on some of the most reckless and unabashed begging I have ever done. But there was a point to it. To make you smile. And laugh. And have a little shot of ridiculous to your day. And watch for more of it, because I really had fun doing it.
But here is the point – Maroon 5 is in town tonight, playing at the Schott, and somewhere along the way yesterday, I started giggling at the thought of me actually having the chance to sit down and talk with Adam Levine. I mean, what would that really be like? What would I say? I didn’t really get that far. I just thought that I would just let the begging commence and see if it even got his attention slightly to tweet me back. The answer is still no…but…my campaign is still going on as I write this. Below are some of the images used so far. I particularly like the full color image myself.
