Howard Ashman

Howard Ashman

A few months ago, my friend Heather Llewellyn approached me about taking part in a new series of events and fundraisers for Equitas Health called Art for Life: On the Town. We sat with our friend Chris Hamel of Gateway Film Center and began to think about what kind of unique programming we could provide that would engage people all while helping to raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS.

Pretty immediately, I knew I wanted to do something to celebrate the life of Howard Ashman, one of the brilliant minds that helped create Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. Howard died in 1991 at the age of 40 due to complications of AIDS.

A Celebration of the Life of Howard Ashman will take place at the Gateway Film Center this Saturday at 1:30 pm. Every penny from every ticket goes to further the mission of Equitas Health in fighting HIV/AIDS, through education, awareness, testing, and advocacy.

From some classic clips to some intimate performances from my friends Que Jones, Ricky Locci, and Jordan Shafer, I hope you will consider joining me for this special afternoon.

Honestly, my ‘lil Disney heart is so excited to celebrate a man who has had such profound impact on my life. <3

Tickets are available now and are limited:

DragCast 115 – A Pirate’s Smile

DragCast 115 – A Pirate’s Smile

This week’s episode of DragCast starts with a ARGH and we go from there. I just started to listen to the ‘cast again, and can’t stop giggling. That pirate illusion I am giving off in the first few minutes is epic.

115: A Pirate Smile

In this episode, we find out Patricia and my pirate names, a recent road trip, and all of the news that’s fit to diss. The Emmy Awards were a big part of this episode – from all of the winners and losers to the night’s best and worst fashions, to an appearance by former White House press secretary Sean Spicer. Of course, biggest congrats to RuPaul for snatching her Emmy! But was she snubbed for best reality show? Hear our thoughts AND more.

We stopped by the Ark Encounter (parking lot) too this past weekend, too!

This episode is full! And kids say the darnedest thing, and I share the most adorable story about my niece! Here’s a hint:

And!! Can we share this adorable picture of Mater from Disney’s California Adventure and their

CARS LAND HAUL-O-WEEN – Everyone’s favorite Cars characters have transformed Radiator Springs into their own Haul-O-Ween celebration during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. For the first time, the Cars characters will be donning their Halloween “car-stumes” as they greet guests and prepare to go “trunk-or-treating.” Mater will be wearing his vampire or “van-pire” outfit, while Lightning McQueen is dressed as a super hero. Cruz Ramirez, Red the Fire Truck and DJ get dressed up as a pirate, a clown and a punk rocker, respectively.(Joshua Sudock/Disneyland Resort)

PS Not only am I addicted to Starbucks, but I am obsessed with collecting their stars.

Some of the feedback we get is so insightful, we decided we couldn’t keep it all to ourselves. So….Welcome to our big listener emails episode! We’re also talking about drag shows and birthdays and good vibes. But first we discuss the events in Charlottesville, VA this past weekend and just what is going on in the world and what can we do.

Episode 109 is Here!

Episode 109 is Here!

Well, it’s here!

More leaks! This time they’re about the cast of the next season of Drag Race All Stars and we couldn’t resist talking about it — and, that’s not the only RuPaul T we’re spilling. We’ll also talk about some amazing kids and the latest Angela Landsbury rumor that’s got us giddy.  But first, let’s dish about the newest thing everyone seems to be talking about — Sarahah. What is it? Would you use it? And, most importantly, how do you say it?

DragCast and Sasha Velour

I am so excited for this week’s episode of DragCast with Nina West. I really can’t believe we had the chance to sit down with Sasha Velour, the newly crowned winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She is real. She is honest. She is beyond intelligent. She is incredible. I hope you will take the time out to listen to this week’s episode and share it with the drag fans in your life!

Thank you Sasha, for sharing your time with us! I hope we have more fun together soon.
